NAGSDA MID-WEST ZONE CAMP MEETING REPORT

The 2017 Mid-West Zonal Camp Meeting was held at Bowling Green University, Ohio from July 18, 2017 to July 23, 2017. The theme was “Reflecting Jesus Christ.” We expected an attendance of 300 and over, but we ended up having 255 adults attending each paying a fee of $190.00, while the children 6 -10 years paid $ 50.00

Some of the topics discussed and their presenters are as follows: “It is Time to Grow” and “Christian Dressing” by Pastor Kusi Yeboah; “Peter’s Ladder of Virtues” and “Is it Tit for Tat” by Pastor S. K. Twumasi; Christian Dressing and “Christian Giving” by Pastor Emmanuel Kwasi Sarpong. The Divine and Consecration services were held by NAGSDA President, Pastor Appiah Kubi Kwarteng who graced the occasion. Health talks and Health Expo were conducted with checks on Blood Sugar, Cholesterol, Blood pressure, Weight, and Height. Attendees also had the privilege of meeting Health professionals for counselling.

We were privileged to have the choir, singing band and various singing groups lifting our hearts with heaven sent hymns and songs. The Musical concert led by Akwasi Asiama and Samuel Asare Bediakon on Thursday night was par excellence. The various choirs, and singing bands with their respective costumes seated on the platform and singing hymns made many of us feel like being in heaven. The entire music at the camp was solemn and spirit filled.

Devotions, workshops, frequent prayer sessions and inspirational songs were the order of the day. The children behaved very well at the camp. We never heard of any child pulling the alarm as previously witnessed at our Camp Meetings. Their teachers led by Mrs Serah Boateng were there all the time to see to that the children were well taken care of both spiritually and physically.

Partial report gathered by the evaluation team indicate a very favorable report of the Camp Meeting. Some even expressing that it was one of the best Camp Meetings they have ever attended. The Zonal Camp Meeting has indeed come to stay, as campers expressed their satisfaction of having the Zonal Camp Meeting.

The main set back of the Camp Meeting was the accommodation, where some of the members had to use bedrooms with detached restrooms. Based upon the feedback we are having, we expect to have more people attending 2018 Camp Meeting. I want to thank NAGSDA executives, Mid-West Zonal Council, Camp Meeting Committees, Coordinators and all churches in the Zone for their support, participation, advise and prayers that made the 2017 Camp Meeting successful.
